I produce work derived from my interest in life and death cycles, the seasons and natural plant and animal forms. I have a fascination with the sinister side of nature and predatory creatures. I have been working in glass and mixed media for the past 15yrs using the techniques of Pate de Verre, fusing, casting and fine metalwork incorporating recycled materials where possible.
Alongside this work I enjoy painting in Ink and mixed media with the fluidity of water based paints, taking on movement of its own accord, which leads into something else - unexpected.I paint using my imagination and from what I see on a daily basis around me where I live. My paintings are about feelings, as well as visual and I try to capture both of these in response to my environment.
I completed the Contemporary Crafts BA (Hons) at Falmouth university in 2008 studying Glass & Mixed Media and also Design for decorative stained glass in 2002 at Plymouth College City & Guilds creative skills certificate in Decorative stained glass.
In 2017 I completed the Defining Practice course at Newlyn School of Art and I am a member of the Cornwall Ceramics and Glass Group and Lizard Art Co-operative at Trelowarren.
