Natural materials, mark making, layering and playful experimentation. I am a landscape artist for whom process is all important and outcome is largely unplanned. Life is fragile and in nature I seek beauty in the bleak. My initial creative response is to work chaotically. Ultimately I may find resolution by creating layers that reflect calm. I discovered the joy of a fine art practice in mid life and have mainly self taught. Studies in the Geosciences, a career at Liberty of London and textile crafting remain influential. For the love of creativity, coast walking and sailing in Cornwall, we eventually moved from The Cotswolds to The Lizard in 2023.
