“Vertical and horizontal divisions are a common occurrence in my work. Relationships between interlocking forms, colours and lines are a strong influence. These connections often appear jumbled, lost or unclear as a result of working from memory. My aim is to restructure these memories through a constant exploration and evolution of places, colours, journeys and impressions in order to re-establish clarity. My paintings are a search for a balance; a stability of space and form fabricated by a process of layering and generating illusionary depth. I am absorbed by specific techniques and the progression of discovering and resolving new marks. The making of my work is a visual satisfaction” Victoria lives and works in Helston and is inspired by her surrounding coastal landscape.
