Sue born in 1947 graduated from Central School of Art, London in 1973. She has taught, run art businesses and exhibited in many mixed and solo exhibitions, travelling and fixed, throughout the country, London and as far as Tokyo. After a brief period living in the USA, she has worked for the last 14 years at her studio in Falmouth, Cornwall. Aware of the pressure of climate change, she has strong links with the Lizard and is engaged in rescuing and planting trees there. There is a commitment to abstraction as for her, art is a means of enlightenment, a kind of magic which captures images of inner feeling beyond thought or mind. The paintings are not to be reasoned with or to be understood they are to be experienced and meditated upon: to be discovered as one might discover light filtering through the leaves or reflections on water. The quality of it is the freedom of thought that it offers to both the artist and the viewer, so that looking at a piece of art will be a pure unadulterated relationship between the viewer and the picture and it maybe possible to see and feel different things at different times.
